Roy C. Jarrett, 94, of Chambers Hill, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020, peacefully in Carolyn’s House, Linglestown, with family by his side.
Born in Williamsport on October 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Roy Jarrett and Nancy S. Quiggle Busler wife of Cecil Busler.

Roy retired as a Design Draftsman from the former AMP, INC. A Navy veteran, Roy served on the USS Bunker Hill as an Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class in World War II. He was a member of the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church and an Easter egger. Roy, along with his wife, volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. A steam engine enthusiast, Roy was a member of the Train Collectors Association, and found great enjoyment working on his model railroad yard layout. He also enjoyed working in his garden. A devoted family man, Roy loved traveling with his wife; camping, hunting, fishing and canoeing with his sons; and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Best Jarrett, on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

He is survived by his three sons, Steven A. Jarrett husband of Terry E., and Keith D. Jarrett husband of Michele both of Hummelstown, and Mark T. Jarrett of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Adam Jarrett husband of Aleana, Chad Jarrett husband of Melanie, Faith Mong wife of Marcus, Jenell Hallam wife of Jesse, and Jason Jarrett husband of Kristin; and ten great grandchildren, Cali, Henley, Madison, Ryder, Avery, Hunter, Paisley, Luca, Gino, Cora and Dominic.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the service will be private. Inurnment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent to Carolyn’s House, 1701 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
