Phyllis Irene Lamason Yarnell, 89, of Harrisburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.

Born in Harrisburg on January 24, 1930, and raised in Colonial Park, she was the daughter of the late Jacob L. and Myrtle V. Herman Lamason.

Phyllis was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a 1947 graduate of the former Lower Paxton High School. Phyllis was a member of Brookfield Bible Church, Harrisburg, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed serving the Lord through the church’s many activities. Having a beautiful singing voice, Phyllis often sang at weddings. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Yarnell, Sr., on Thursday, July 6, 2017; two sisters; and a niece.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl L. Cupp wife of Wayne of Harrisburg; one son, Paul L. “Butch” Yarnell, Jr. husband of Cindy E. of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, David W. Cupp husband of Desirae, Jason D. Cupp husband of Jennifer, and Jaime A. Yarnell Barnes wife of Jack; eight great grandchildren, Gavin Cupp, Dominick Fleagle, Dreyson Cupp, Ariana Cupp, Eli Barnes, Alexis Cupp, Lucas Barnes, and Nathan Barnes; a special nephew, Harry F. Smith, Jr. husband of Pam of Harrisburg; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. James J. Penica, pastor of the Hilltop Christian Church, Newport, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. Viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday from 10 AM until time of the service.

Phyllis you and Paul were such a Godly influence in my life. You showed love for other people. You, Phyllis, were a prayer warrior. I will miss your laughter and love. So sorry for your loss Cheryl. - Susan Renn
