Obituary for Paul D Hoffman

Paul D. Hoffman, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, in the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

Born in Williamstown on April 1, 1932, Paul was the son of the late Paul L. and Anna F. Shoop Hoffman.

Paul retired as a teacher from the Lower Dauphin School District where he specialized in teaching Math, Social Studies and Science to students with learning disabilities. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army; and served with the Pennsylvania National Guard for 10 years. Paul was a lifetime member of Ashlar Lodge No. 570, F&AM, Lykens. While Paul did not attend a church on a regular basis, his belief in God and Bible reading were very important to him.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Dale J. Hoffman on April 17, 2018; his brothers, John Hoffman and Herbie Hoffman, and his sister, Anna Hoffman.

Paul is survived by his ex-wife, Mary C. Klinger Hoffman of Marietta; three daughters, Sherry A. Logan of Marietta, Renee C. Morth wife of Seth A. of Lebanon, and Dawn A. Renner wife of Kim J. of Harrisburg, and their three children, Adam, Samuel husband of Jessica, and Anne, and their granddaughter, Audrey.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 1:30 PM in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Please do not arrive before 1:15 PM.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

Those desiring may make memorial donations in Paul’s name to the Masonic Village, Attn: Office of Gift Planning, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
