Nancy L. Baker Rudy, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020, at her home.

Born in Harrisburg on June 14 1935, she was the daughter of the late Julia Baker Vance and Clyde Gift.

Nancy had worked as a teletype operator for the Pennsylvania State Police and for Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. She was a graduate of the former John Harris High School. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon. She enjoyed crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Rudy, in 1963; and by a daughter, Cheryl A. Carney.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey L. Baker husband of Cheryl L. of Hummelstown; two daughters, Beverly J. Otto of Florida, and Debra L. Robinson of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with Pastor Kim R. Fox, her pastor, officiating. A private inurnment will be in Shoop’s Garden of Rest, Harrisburg. A visitation will be held on Friday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.

Sending my condolences to Nancy’s family. I delivered Meals On Wheels to her and she always greeted me with a big smile and a big “Hi Nancy!’ Then gave me a big hug. She was a very sweet lady. She will be missed.
