Obituary for Michael W. Starliper

Michael W. Starliper, 62, of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, in Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at Palmyra.

Born in Harrisburg, on December 30, 1957, he was the son of Doris Alleman Starliper of Hummelstown and the late George Starliper, Sr.

Mike retired from Hershey’s Ice Cream, Harrisburg, where he refurbished ice cream machines. He was a life member of the AMVETS Post 293, Lebanon; and a member of the Reliance Hose Home Association and the former AMVETS Post 286 both of Rutherford.

In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Susan M. Bricker Starliper, on June 24, 2011; and by a brother, George Starliper. Jr.

Along with his mother, Mike is survived by one son, Jonathan M. Starliper of Hummelstown; one sister, Susan Shaeffer wife of Clayton E. Jr. of the Ozark Mountains, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mike’s immediate family will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. George M. Minick, pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Inurnment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, North Annville Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
