Obituary for Linda D. Carnline (Schwartz)

Linda D. Schwartz Carnline, 66, of Marshall, TX, and formerly of Hummelstown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3, 2020, in Hummelstown.

Born in Hershey on July 1, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Verna Via Schwartz.

Linda was a 1971 graduate of Hershey High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University, Shreveport, LA. She spent most of her career as a registered nurse at Christus Good Shephard Medical Center in Marshall. Linda was a member of Summit United Methodist Church, Marshall, where she played the piano and sang in the church choir; she also served as the choir director and played the piano and organ at First United Methodist Church, Waskom, TX. Besides her musical abilities, Linda enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing games with family and she loved all types of animals. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by one son, Robert L. “Bobby” Carnline husband of Brandy S. of Plano, TX; two grandsons, Austin N. and Andrew T. Carnline both of Plano; two brothers, Stephen Schwartz, and David Schwartz husband of Kathy, both of Hershey; one sister, Laurie Hover wife of Scott of Hershey; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church, 64 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, with The Rev. Clyde H. DeShong, III officiating. A private graveside service will be held in the Fishburn Cemetery, Hershey. Visitation will be Saturday in the church from 10 AM until time of the service.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Harrison County, P.O. Box 155, Marshall, TX, 75671, or by email to; OR to Summit United Methodist Church, 1901 East End Blvd North, Marshall, TX 75670 – Please write “Choir” on the memo line.

Miss Linda was such a sweet person when I would come in contact with her at Christus Good Shepherd. I am one of the housekeepers there who cleaned her office. My condolences to her family she will be greatly missed.
