Obituary for Jill R. Dimpsey (Dimpsey)

Jill R. Dimpsey, 69, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg, with her wife and friends by her side.

Born in Harrisburg on July 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Darwin W., Sr., and Kathryn Maye Fasnacht Dimpsey.
Jill retired after 25 years of service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania working in the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Liquor Control Board. She was also a Cosmetologist having worked at the former Taika Beauty Salon and the former Plaza Beauty Salon, both of Hummelstown. Jill was a 1969 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School; and graduate of the former Kendall Empire Beauty School. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, and its Breakfast Club. Jill was also a member of the Hummelstown Area Historical Society. She enjoyed “Glamping” with her wife in their RV equipped with running water and cable TV; and watching Hallmark movies. Most of all, Jill loved going to Rehoboth Beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jill was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene K. “Darl” Christofes and Joyce Atanasoff; and a brother, Darwin W. “Pork” Dimpsey, Jr.

She is survived by her wife of seven years, Cindy Baldwin, whom she married on October 12, 2013; her son-of-her-heart, Martel S. Robinson of Harrisburg; one brother, Jack D. Dimpsey, husband of Carolyn, of Hummelstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 11:30 AM at the rear of 120 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Jody Silliker, Pastor Emerita of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewings Friday, August 21, 2020, from 6 to 8 PM, and Saturday from 10 to 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Health Ministries of Christ Lutheran Church, 124 South 13th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.
