Obituary for Jarrad Anthony Weikel

Jarrad Anthony Weikel, 40, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 11, 2022, in his home.

Born in Harrisburg on May 24, 1981, he was the son of Sandra K. Shertzer Weikel wife of Rocco Catalone of Palmyra, and the late Gregory Henry Weikel.

Jarrad earned his bachelor’s degree in Science from Penn State Berks. After college, he enlisted in the Marines where he served two combat tours in Iraq. Jarrad was always willing to give of his time for veterans in need. He was a member of the Phoenixville VFW Post 1564 where he would volunteer at their benefit events, and drive veterans to their appointments.

Jarrad was a walking encyclopedia. He was constantly reading and learning everything that he could. Jarrad enjoyed going to the gym and cooking. Jarrad was a seasoned traveler, visiting many different locations across the world. He was talented at brewing beers, and was a judge for brewing competitions. He belonged to a Brewer’s Club, and attended seminars to keep up to date with the latest innovations in brewing.

In addition to his mother, Jarrad is survived by his brother, Joshua Weikel husband of Anita of Harrisburg; a sister, Alyssa Weikel of Annville; a sister, Jeanette Drnevich, wife of Chris of Cape May Courthouse, NJ; and his nieces and nephews, Maximus, Mason, Bella, Benson, CJ, Paige, and Jeremy. He was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Catalone.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, at 11:30 AM in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Road, Annville. Please arrive no sooner than 11:15 am at the cemetery.
