Obituary for Janet L. Martin (Moses)

Janet L. Moses Martin, 80, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, in the Middletown Home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Hershey on March 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Martin T., Sr., and Martha S. Etzweiler Moses.

She retired as a vegetable sorter from the former Verdelli Farms, Inc. Janet was a graduate of Hershey High School. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Derry Township. Janet was a member of the Hummelstown Community Singers and Red Rose Rebekah Lodge No. 586, Middletown; a former member of the Hummelstown Lions Club; a charter member of the former Hummelstown Lioness Club and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Hummelstown Fire Department. She enjoyed singing and doing for other people.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Yvonne M. Calhoon wife of Roger A. of Hummelstown, Lois M. Shiffer wife of Jeffrey L. of Grantville, Rosemary L. Pellegrini wife of Joseph J. of Harrisburg, and Barbara E. Kennedy wife Zachary S. also of Grantville; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Boyd E. Martin, on December 10, 2015; and two brothers, Martin T. Moses, Jr. and Eugene R. Moses, Sr.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have memorial contributions made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 850 Hill Church Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 and Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
