Irene E. Yeager Harman, 85, of Spring Creek Care Center, Harrisburg, and formerly of Lykens, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in UPMC Pinnacle Health Harrisburg.

Born in Wiconisco on November 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Russell Henry and Edith Irene Miller Yeager.

Irene’s faith and church, Miracle Revival of Lykens, were very important to her. She not only worshipped at Miracle Revival but also worked as a former teacher monitor at the Lykens Christian School of the church. In recent years she attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown. More than anything, however, Irene and her husband treasured their time with their grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. “Pap” Harman, Sr., on March 11, 2016; and a son, Richard E. Harman, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Harman husband of Wenda of Hummelstown, and Tommy R. Harman of Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Karen L. Reese of Hershey; five grandchildren, Aaron Harman husband of Jen, Tim Harman, Andy Hartman husband of Amy, Chanda Reichelderfer wife of Chad, and Kolby Harman husband of Nicole; and seven great grandchildren, Bailey Reichelderfer, Ava Reichelderfer, Kardon Harman, Rowan Harman, Grayson Hartman, Reid Hartman, and Thia Hartman.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Robert J. Kazinski, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, officiating. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004.
