Helen A. Luttrell, 86, of Elizabethtown passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at her home.

Born in Hershey on December 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Mildred Mellot Aumen.

Helen was the co-owner of Ralph Luttrell, Inc., a property development and construction company; and was its Rental Manager for over 37 properties. She also enjoyed working at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Helen was a 1951 graduate of Hershey High School. She was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hershey, where she served on the Church Council, was a Sunday School Teacher, and WELCA Leader. Helen was the Bible Study Coordinator for the Hershey Christian Women’s Club. She was also a member of the Hershey Chapter #509 Order of the Eastern Star; the Little Flower Club of Dauphin County; the Hershey Horticulture Society; and the Dauphin County Extension Office. Helen formerly served on the PTA of Conewago Elementary School; and was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed her Bible studies and gardening; but most of all, she loved caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her family

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. “Mick” Luttrell, on November 19, 2013; an infant son, Dale Luttrell; a grandson, Nickolas Akright; and two brothers, Bruce Aumen and Victor Aumen; and two sisters, Pauline Finn and Doris Flory.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Luttrell husband of Susan and Gregory A. Luttrell, both of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Cara A. Gray wife of Valerie of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Diane LaBruto, Melissa Crosby, Janet Love, Laura Heinl, Nicole Lewis, Ashley Akright, Kayla Luttrell, and Jenna Dooley; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Decker of Saugerties, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at a later date. A private interment will be in the Hanoverdale Cemetery.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

Cara and family...the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church community shared your mother's passing with me. I have such fond memories of your mom. Her great smile and friendly words! Her image is imprinted in my memory from my childhood. She had so many wonderful accomplishments in her life, the most important, her loving family. I am thinking of you.

Dear Luttrell Family,
So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. The Keefer Family was always such close friends of you all while growing up. We always enjoyed our times together. Both of your parents were such good and kind folks. Sending hugs to all of you.
