George W. Fisher, 94, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at his son’s home in Palmyra.

Born in Bedford on August 26, 1924, he was the son of the late James and Virginia Winisickle Fisher.

George retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company and had worked at the Kegeris Poultry Farm. A jack of all trades, George enjoyed working with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wert Fisher, on October 23, 2018.

George is survived by five children, Lorene Taraschi wife of James, and Robert Fisher husband of Lynn both of Palmyra, Phyllis Lapidus wife of Arthur of Pittsburgh, and Rosemary Bickle wife of Donald, and Kathleen Jennings wife of Michael, both of Grantville; one step-son, Edward John Murphy husband of Louise K. of Grantville; ten grandchildren; one step-grandson; nine great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by one son, Mark Fisher; and one step-son, Jeffrey Lee Murphy.
At George’s request there will be no services. Inurnment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
