Frederick W. Wagner, 95, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in The Middletown Home.

Born in Pittsburgh on December 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Ferdinand C. and Estella E. Koch Wagner.

Fred retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a Window Clerk at the Hummelstown Branch. He served proudly and honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Active in the American Legion, Fred served as the Past State Commander of The Department of Pennsylvania, Central Vice President of its Dauphin County 19th District, and Commander and life member of Post 265, Hummelstown. He was also a life member of the Robert Smith Detachment of the Marine Corps League and the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687, both of Hummelstown.

Fred’s wife, Shirley Rinesmith Hock Wagner, recently preceded him in death on March 29, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy I. Williams Wagner; a son, Steven Wagner; a grandson, Joseph Wagner; a step-son, Frederick E. Hock; and a sister, Naomi Wagner.

He is survived by five daughters, Dawn Wagner, Jeri Wiederkehr, Leslie Ruch, Jo Pickett and Lauren Lynch; a step-daughter, Debra L. Sager wife of Patrick D. of Hummelstown; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

In honoring Fred’s wishes, he will be interred in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with no services

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Pennsylvania American Legion Housing for Homeless Veterans Corporation, 800 North Front Street, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
