Obituary for Joanne L. Otstott (Flawd)
Joanne L. Otstott, 74, of Hummelstown, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in the Spring Creek Care Center, Harrisburg, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lancaster on August 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Anna Gephart Flawd.
Joanne was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Church of God, Harrisburg, where she babysat and was a member of the Senior Bible Class. Joanne loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, reading, and playing Scrabble with her girlfriends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Otstott, on June 20, 1983.
Joanne is survived by two sons, Robert E. Otstott husband of Sharon of Susquehanna Township, and James L. Otstott of Clarion County; three daughters, Wanda J. Kolaric wife of Ivan of Hummelstown, Diane L. Macchioni of Hummelstown, and Carol A. Ramirez wife of Frank of Harrisburg; three sisters, Shirley Stauffer of Harrisburg, Doris Stewart wife of William of Greenville, SC, and Eileen Kline wife of Denny of Landisburg; three brothers, Earl Flawd husband of Donna of Davenport, FL, Robert Flawd husband of Estelle of Akron, and Ronald Flawd husband of Barb of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her beloved Parakeet, Sweetie Pie.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 11 AM in the United Church of God, 1211 Fairmont Drive, Harrisburg. Visitation will be held Saturday in the church from 10 AM until time of the services. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, at the convenience of the family.
