Michael Burke Abraham, 56, of Carlisle, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia on September 9, 1954, he was the son of the late Michael and Dorothy Burke Abraham. Michael worked for the Pinnacle Health System for over 20 years in the maintenance department of Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He was a 1972 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown, where he played football and ran track; and a 1974 graduate of the former York Academy of the Arts. Michael was an accomplished artist and painter, having worked in Virginia for several years as an artist after graduation.
Michael is survived by two brothers, Robert R. Hooton husband of Laurel and James W. Abraham husband of Mary Lynn both of Hummelstown; two nieces and a nephew, Jennifer L. Abraham and James C. Abraham both of Hummelstown, and Laurel Michelle Ramos wife of Andrew of Carlisle, a great niece and nephew, Morgan A. Ramos and Jillian S. Ramos both of Carlisle; and his Falcon teammates.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends will be received for a viewing Saturday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the services.
