Michael Edward O’Donnell, 65, of Palmyra, passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at his home.
Born in New York on May 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Michael Edward and Marie Shiels O’Donnell.
Mike retired as the Sales Manager of Shawnee Development Center; and was working as a driver for Cardinal Health. He was a graduate of the former Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science. Mike served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol having been stationed at Shawnee Ski Resort. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a member of the Palmyra Sportsmen Club. Although a private and quiet man, Mike made an impact on many as a counselor and confidant.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Delaney O’Donnell, whom he married on October 6, 2006; one daughter, Jill Slaven wife of Timothy of Sebastian, FL; two grandchildren, Alexa Slaven and Aidan Slaven both of Sebastian, FL; and a cousin, Joanne Hoolihan of Bryn Mawr.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with the Rev. Fr. Philip G. Burger, as celebrant. Friends will be received at a reception following the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Down’s Syndrome Association of Central Florida (A Voice for Special Olympics), 204 North Wymore Road, Winter Park, FL 32789.
