Obituary for Larry Dean Young
Larry Dean Young, 63, of Rutherford, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007, at his home.
Born in Shillington on June 8, 1944, he was the son of the late Elmer and Hilda Barnes Young.
Larry was an Engineering Technician having retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a construction inspector. He received his Associates Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College; and was a 1958 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, Shillington. Larry served with the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post 998, Lawnton, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1213, Rutherford. Larry loved cars, doing crossword puzzles, and working on his computer, but he especially loved spending time with his family and his cock-a-poo, Shadow.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie Marzano Young, whom he married on August 27, 1966; one daughter, Monica A. Poziemski of Camp Hill; three sons, Paul C. Poziemski husband of Kelly of Palmyra, Michael D. Young husband of Katrina of Lemoyne, and Timothy A. Young husband of Danielle of York; and eleven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Kohl and Dorace Barth.
Private family services will be held with The Rev. Bradley A. Brown, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, York, officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township.
