Obituary for Dudley W. Pennington Jr.
Dudley W. (Bill) Pennington, Jr., 95, passed away February 13, 2018, in Palmyra, PA, surrounded by family. Born in Chicago, IL, he served in the Pacific Theater in the US Navy in World War II. He graduated from the University of Virginia and worked as a civil engineer for the DuPont Company for 35 years. He was an avid Chesapeake Bay boater, pilot, golfer, Chicago Cubs fan, and out-to-dinner aficionado.
He was married to his wife Beverly for 44 years before she passed away. He is survived by his children, Karen Burk (Steve) of Hummelstown, PA, Bill Pennington (Josianne) of Baltimore, MD, Rob Pennington (Sherry) of Houston, TX, and Chere Pennington of Santa Rosa, CA. He has six grandchildren, Nick Pennington, Ryan Burk (Lindsay), Marisa Pennington, Kelley Gregor (Jared), Andrew Franck, and Michael Franck, and great grandson, Evan Burk.
Services will be held Thursday, February 22, at St. John Lutheran Church, 158 S. Hoernerstown Rd., Hummelstown, PA, with visitation from 10:30-11:15 A.M., followed by the service. Pastor Martha Boyd will be presiding. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
