Carol I. Huber (Ivey)
Carol Ivey Huber, 85, of Lifeways at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, in the home.
Born in Harrisburg on May 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Doyle W. Ivey, Sr. and Helen Moss Ivey. Carol retired from the Human Resources Department of the former AMP, Inc. She was the Valedictorian of the 1950 class of the former Steelton High School. Carol was also a member of the Hummelstown United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Huber, on October 20, 1998.
Carol is survived by a brother, Doyle W. Ivey, Jr. husband of Joanne F. of Dillsburg; three nieces, Susan Reday, Patti Ivey Schroeder, and Lauren Dion; and her husband’s niece and nephew, Dottie Dunn and George Huber III.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2017, at 2 PM in the Messiah Village Chapel, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, with The Rev. Ronald R. Slabaugh, pastor at Lifeways at Messiah Village, officiating. A private interment will be held in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewing Friday in the chapel from 1:30 PM until time of the service.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifeways at Messiah Village, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
