Obituary for Fay Rhoads (Gingrich)

Fay Rhoads (Gingrich)
Fay I. Gingrich Rhoads, 85, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center with her family by her side.
Born in Harrisburg on June 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Ruth Garman Gingrich, and raised by her foster parents, the late Richard and Elizabeth Taylor.
Fay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired as the Business Office Manager at Frey Village, Middletown; and was a former Secretary for the Lower Dauphin School District. Fay was a 1950 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. She was a member of the Hummelstown United Church of Christ. Fay enjoyed reading, painting, knitting and sewing, however nothing meant more to her than spending time with her family.
Fay is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Charles A. Rhoads, whom she married on April 6, 1950; five sons, Charles R. “Dusty” Rhoads husband of Robyn, and Richard W. Rhoads husband of Angela, both of Harrisburg, David E. Rhoads of Annville, Lee A. Rhoads husband of Lisa of Steelton, and Thomas A. Rhoads of Lewisberry; one daughter, Linda A. Moran wife of John of Hummelstown; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith Gingrich and Richard Gingrich.
Private services will be held by the family.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hummelstown United Church of Christ, 104 East Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036; or to a charity of your choice.
