Obituary for Cheryl L. Boykin (Rey)
Cheryl L. Rey Boykin, 57, of Harrisburg, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, in her home.
Born in Harrisburg on July 1, 1959, she was the daughter of Joyce E. Meals Rey of Harrisburg and the late George H. Rey III.
Cheryl retired from Hershey Foods where she worked for over 30 years in various departments. She was a 1977 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. Cheryl truly had a giving heart, she loved being a “Mawmaw” to her grandchildren who were the center of her universe. She enjoyed delivering baked goods and food to people simply because she wanted to. She was excellent at cooking, baking, and sewing. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, Cheryl is survived by her two daughters, Emily L. Fontanella wife of David A. of Hummelstown, and Lindsay A. Boykin significant other of Cody Moss of Harrisburg; three siblings, Elise Henry wife of Tom of Hummelstown, George H. Rey IV husband of Julia Elizabeth of Pilesgrove, NJ, and Margot Troutman fiancée of Mike Vinson of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Antonia Hiester, Ayden Boykin, Spencer Fontanella, and LilyRey Fontanella; and six nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
