James E. Youngman, 74, of Hershey, formerly of White Plains, NY, died
at his home on Friday, October 10, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Irene of 38 years, daughter Kathryn Youngman of Hummelstown, son William Youngman and daughter-in-law Sylvia of Berlin, Germany and one precious granddaughter, Zoey.
Jim graduated from Parsons School of Design. He was an artist/teacher who founded and directed the Artist Studio Center in NYC, a workshop for painters, sculptors and ceramists for over 30 years. He also taught sculpture at the New Canaan Sculpture Group in Waveny Park, CT and most recently stone carving at the Art Association of Harrisburg.
Jim was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of the US Naval School of Music. While in the Navy he was a member of the US Navy marching band.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey on Wednesday, October 15 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Friends will be received following the Mass from 12 noon to 12:30 P.M. in the church.
