Gardenia F. Engle (Caudill)
Gardenia Fay Caudill Engle, 76, of Chambers Hill, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Yukon, WV on July 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Edith P. Johnson Caudill.
Gardenia retired from the Manatee County School Board, Florida, in food services. She was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Newtown Square, PA. Gardenia loved to read, enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords, and cherished her trips to Rehoboth Beach, DE.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle D. Tompkins wife of Carle of Chambers Hill; two sons, William C. Engle husband of Celeste of Montana, and Michael J. Engle husband of Lori of North Dakota; two sisters, Beverly Prather and Wanda Zimmerman both of Florida; ten grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Christi, Kevin, Alazei, Connor, Bishop, Emily, Clarissa, and Samantha; and five great grandchildren, Emmett, CJ, Evelyn, Cheyenne, and Sam.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have contributions made in memory of Gardenia to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Harrisburg Warehouse, 3908 Corey Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
