Obituary for Douglas Scott Eby
Douglas Scott Eby, 52, of Camp Hill, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Harrisburg on October 19, 1963, he was the son of Patricia Burris Eby of Camp Hill, and Lloyd H. Eby, Jr. and step-mother Betty B. Miller of Colonial Park.
A very hard worker, Douglas was a clerk III for the Pennsylvania Department of Health & Welfare, Harrisburg. He was a 1981 graduate of Camp Hill High School. Douglas was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. He enjoyed spending time with his cat, Jasper, and bulldog, Zorro; being outside, especially working in the yard; and watching sports.
Douglas is survived by his wife of 9 years, Danielle Hoak Eby, whom he married on January 10, 2007; a daughter, Jessica A. Eby of Duncannon; a grandson, Roman C. Shanafelter of Duncannon; a sister, Barbra E. Burke wife of Mark E. of Camp Hill; a nephew, Logan M. Burke of Camp Hill; an uncle, Frank M. Burris husband of Shirley of Rheems; an aunt, Beverly J. Appley wife of Kenneth of Orange, CT; numerous cousins; two stepsons, Kevin J. Sherlock husband of Julie of York Springs and Jeffrey M. Sherlock of Mechanicsburg; and a step grandson, Kyle R. Sherlock; a step-sister, Kristine K. Miller of Harrisburg; and a step-brother, Matthew M. Miller husband of Michelle of Hummelstown.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas S. Eby, Jr. in 2005.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 3:30 PM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, with The Rev. Dr. Jack M. Horner, officiating. Inurnment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing in the church’s library on Friday from 2:30 PM until time of the service.
