Warren E. Jones, 73, of Ickesburg passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.
Born in Harrisburg on September 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Harry F. Jones, Sr. and Vada Hoover Jones.
Warren owned the former Jones Sunoco Oil Stations of Camp Hill and Carlisle; and retired as a truck mechanic for Pepsi. He was a 1960 graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Warren was an U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a former member of Chambers Hill United Methodist Church; and the American Rifle Club. Warren loved life on his farm. He enjoyed hunting, and was proud to have taught his grandson how to shoot and hunt. Warren especially enjoyed spending time with his son and grandson fishing. He was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Warren is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jewel A. “Bonnie” Baker Jones, whom he married on June 14, 1975; one son, Eric E. Jones of Mechanicsburg; and two grandchildren, Egan E. Jones and Evelyn J. Jones both of Mechanicsburg
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by a brother, Harry F. Jones, Jr., on November 30, 2014.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with Pastor Terry Lamer, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 Noon until time of the services.
