Roy G. Lingle, 83, of Messiah Village and formerly of Summerdale, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, in the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Harrisburg on September 5, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Mabel Sheaffer Lingle.
Roy was self employed as a stone mason. He was an US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Roy was a member of Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church, Enola. He loved to tell stories, go hunting, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, June Ludwig Lingle, whom he married on September 7, 1963; his niece and caregiver, Tina Lingle; two sisters, Arlene Phillips wife of Donald of Chambers Hill, and Shirley Gaffney of Salisbury, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Lingle.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held Monday, April 20, 2015, at 1 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Thomas Graham, officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation in the funeral home Monday from 12 Noon until time of the service. Inurnment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church, 116 South Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025.
