Obituary for Charlotte A. Van Winkle (Stoner)

Charlotte A. Stoner Van Winkle, 88, of Hummelstown, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, in the Harrisburg Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born in Hershey on January 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Earl P. and Clara Shakespeare Stoner.
Charlotte was a homemaker. She was a 1947 graduate of Hershey High School. Charlotte was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown. She volunteered, along with her husband, in the early years of the former Hummelstown Ambulance Association. Charlotte loved her time at the Middletown Home; she was extremely involved and could be found participating in every activity. She was also an avid Bingo player throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Van Winkle, Jr. on March 27, 1989.
She is survived by her three daughters, Linda D. Hyde wife of Rodney P. of Union Deposit, Kathy Van Winkle companion of Kirby Brandt of Elizabethtown, and Shirley L. Berger; a son, Walter S. Van Winkle, III husband of Jodi of Palmyra; three sisters, Dorothy S. Reese and Geraldine V. Clark both of Hershey, and Nancy L. Weiss of Lancaster; a brother, Kenneth L. Stoner husband of Sandra of Hershey; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing in the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
