Obituary for Betty R. Vail (Deimler)

Betty Rae Deimler Vail, 83, of Tega Cay, SC, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Harrisburg on October 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late E. Ross and Rachel C. Grove Deimler.
Betty retired from the H. B. Reese Candy Company after 30 years of service. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. Betty was a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, where she also served as a bible school teacher.
Betty had an incredible gift for the arts, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was a lover of gardening, music, and her eye for artistic design influenced everything from the home to the landscape. But above all, her love for family was deepest.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Vail, who passed away on May 20, 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie A. Vail, and Vivian L. Reeher wife of Mark R. of both of Tega Cay, SC; three grandchildren, Rachel C. Sharp wife of Cameron Sharp, Madison L. Reeher, and Wyatt K. Reeher all of Tega Cay, SC; and one brother, Jack C. Deimler of New Cumberland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home Thursday from 10 AM until time of the services.
