Eric Herman Tartler, 51, of Blue Bell and formerly of Chambers Hill, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, in his home.
Born in Philadelphia on October 12, 1962, he was the son of Hermann and Margarete Stabs Tartler of Chambers Hill.
Eric was a Computer Engineer working as a private consultant and was formerly employed by Motorola. He was a 1980 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, and 1984 graduate of Penn State University, State College. Eric was an active member of Hope Community Church, King of Prussia. He enjoyed building models, biking, cooking, and gardening.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl D. Poletti Tartler, on January 8, 2010.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by one daughter, Andrea D. Sloan wife of Daniel R. of Washington, DC; two sisters, Karin Tartler of Pasadena, MD, and Lori Graham wife of Michael of Harrisburg; three granddaughters, Sydney Sloan, Samantha Sloan and Sophia Sloan all of Washington, DC; and one niece, Katiie Graham of Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014, at 2 PM in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. George C. Searfoss and The Rev. Wayne D. Moritz officiating. Relatives and friends will be received Friday in the church’s parlor from 1 PM until time of the services.
A Celebration of Eric’s Life will also be held Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 3 PM at the main campus of Hope Community Church at 150 East Beidler Road, King of Prussia, with The Rev. George C. Searfoss officiating.
