Obituary for Kenneth "Ken" Noell

Kenneth Ellison Noell, 65, of Chambers Hill, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sparrow’s Point, MD on June 19, 1947, he was the son of James and Evelyn (Vansickle) Howell of Palmyra.
Ken was a mechanic, carpenter, and gunsmith. He was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. Ken was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Rutherford. Ken was an US Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War as an aviation mechanic. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a former member of the VFW Post 1213, Rutherford, and also a former member of both the Blue Moon Cruisers and Capital City Cruisers. Ken enjoyed car shows, hunting, and collecting guns; as well as spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Ken is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen E. (Deimler) Noell of Chambers Hill, whom he married in November of 1972; two sons, Gregory R. Noell husband of Sheri L. of Elliotsburg, and Chad E. Noell husband of Stacy L. of Etters; a sister, Lisa Curtis of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren, Jessica L. Noell, Jaedyn C. Noell, Walker B.D. Noell, Wayde G. Noell, and Gabriel E. Noell; a brother-in-law, Gary Deimler husband of Nancy of Dauphin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his brother, William R. Noell.
Memorial services with military honors following will be held Monday, October 15, 2012, at 3 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Dr. Gordon R. Lewis officiating. A visitation will be held Monday in the funeral home from 2 PM until time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
