Gary E. Carson, Sr., 61, of the Spring Creek Care Center, Harrisburg, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Harrisburg on March 3, 1951, he was the son of Catherine Mills Carson of Harrisburg, and the late James “Shorty” Carson.
Gary was a construction worker for the former Dauphin Consolidated Water Company. He was a graduate of Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg. Gary enjoyed gardening and cooking, and had a love for collecting fine clothing.
In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by three sons, Stefan L. Carson Koltrider fiancé of Nacole Shertzer of Hummelstown, Lynn Carson husband of Beatrice of York, and Gary E. Carson, Jr. husband of Susie of Buffalo, NY; one daughter, Yvette Moffitt wife of Leroy of Harrisburg; one brother, Lynn Anthony Carson of Harrisburg; one sister, Maherley Carson Brown wife of George of Buffalo, NY; 11 grandchildren, Marquell Watson, Antwon Watson, Anthony Watson, Jr., Devin Shertzer, Davonte Gist, Stefani Koltrider, Wesley Koltrider, Tony Myers, Alexyz Myers, Brittany Martin and Ayrrionna Carson; and three great grandchildren, Isaah Green, Shakirah Watson and Andre Watson.
Private services will be held by the family.
