Obituary for Alma Hyde

Alma L. Fisher Hyde, 83, of Union Deposit, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lower Swatara Township on September 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John V. and Anna M. Deimler Fisher.
Alma retired as a bus driver from the Lower Dauphin School District. She was a graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. Alma enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, baking cakes, and collecting dolls and cameos. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Alma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin E. “Gene” Hyde, Sr. on September 24, 2003; a daughter, Marcia Ann Hyde on January 22, 1955; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by five daughters, Maradell F. Connelly widow of Chester Scott, Sr. of Annville, Wendy R. Fogarty wife of Vince J. of Harrisburg, Gail L. Hall-Brunner wife of Daniel E. of Hummelstown, Susan K. Vogel wife of David E. of Annville, and Robin A. Yespy widow of Keith A. of Hummelstown; three sons, Ronald L. Hyde husband of Sally Ditzler of Lebanon, Melvin E. Hyde, Jr. husband of Susan Deibert of Palmyra, and Rodney P. Hyde husband of Linda Van Winkle of Union Deposit; two sisters, Lucille W. Houser and Belva F. Sheaffer; three brothers, Ralph G. Fisher, Donald H. Fisher, and Leroy R. Fisher; 29 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 7, 2012, at 10:30 AM in Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Friends are invited to a visitation in the church from 9:30 AM until time of the services.
